Transfer Update: Ajax Reaches Agreement With Middlesbrough For Nigeria Forward

Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam has reached an agreement with the English Championship club Middlesbrough for the services of the Nigeria-eligible striker Chuba Akpom, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Akpom scored 28 goals in 38 Championship appearances for Middlesbrough last season, making him the league’s top scorer.

Akpom, who only has one year left on his current contract, has been identified as the ideal candidate to help the Dutch giants challenge for the title once again.

The Amsterdam club has agreed to pay €12m plus €2m in add-ons for last season’s Championship top goal scorer. 

The 27-year-old striker has been permitted to travel to the Dutch capital and undergo his medical on Tuesday. Akpom is set to sign a five-year contract.
