Transfer Update: Akpeyi Eyes Royal AM Switch

Following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs, Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akepyi has indicated interest to join another South African Premier League side Royal AM, BSNsports.com.ng reports.



The Amakhosi released the former Warri Wolves goalkeeper at the end of last season after spending two years with the club.


While speaking to Sowetan Live, Akpeyi said Royal AM is an ambitious club and they matched his dream of winning titles.


"I want to play for a team that has the same vision and dream as me because I'm still passionate about the game.


"I have watched them ( Royal AM) they are working to be one of the top teams in South Africa and that is a good dream.


"The chairman of the team is putting so much into the team to make sure it grows.


"It looks like a team that shares my vision of winning things, I wouldn't mind if I have offer from them in as much they have the calibre of players that has a dream to win titles.


"I'm at a stage in my career that I don't want to play for playing sake, I want to win things," he said.


Akpeyi is presently undergoing personal training with former Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper Greg Etafia who is also residing in South Africa.
