Adedeji Sudanese giants Al Hilal have turned down an initial offer from South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns for Nigerian striker Sunday Adetunji, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Sundowns are keen to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season and have identified the former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) forward as a key transfer target.

Despite Al Hilal rejecting the opening bid, the South African club remain determined to secure Adetunji's services and are now preparing an improved offer worth more than $1.5 million.

The Nigerian forward has impressed with his performances for Al Hilal, attracting interest from several clubs across the continent, with Sundowns pushing hard to complete the deal.
