Transfer Update: Balogun Wants Contract Extension With Rangers

Just as he has reached the end of his contract with the Scottish cup champions, Rangers, Nigeria's Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, has indicated his interest to remain at the Ibrox, BSNsports.com.ng gathered.

The former Mainz 05 defender joined the Gers two years ago from the English Premier League side Brighton Hove Albion and his stay has been remarkable.

He played an active role last season as Ranger emerged Scottish champion and was also instrumental in their impressive campaign this season which saw him winning the Scottish cup and playing in the final of the Europa League.

"Anyone who knows how I move around the club and within the club, knows I have fallen in love with this club.

"Getting knocked down and getting back up is like my career. That is why I and Rangers are quite a good fit.

“I would love to stay. I think they know that and I hope I can announce something about my future with Rangers soon," he said.
