Transfer Update: Bayer Leverkusen To Sign Temporary Replacement For Boniface

Following an injury to their main striker Victor Boniface, German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen is already considering a temporary replacement for him, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The young attacker sustained the injury while in the Super Eagles in Abu Dhabi ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He was dropped from the team and he has undergone a successful surgery to correct the wound.

The German club on Monday morning approached the Spanish La Liga club Real Betis for Borja Iglesias as a cover-up.

The Spanish side wanted a permanent sale while Leverkusen wanted a loan.

Boniface is expected to recover fully by early April as he has commenced his rehabilitation.
