Transfer Update: Celtic Move To Extend Kelechi Iheanacho's Contract

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic Glasgow are in discussions to extend the contract of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho after an impressive spell at the club, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed his desire to keep Iheanacho beyond his current deal, with negotiations already underway over a contract extension.

The former Super Eagles forward joined Celtic last summer on a one-year contract that included an option for an extension. Both parties are now working towards activating a longer-term agreement.

Despite attracting interest from other clubs, Iheanacho's priority remains staying at Celtic.

The discussions are understood to be progressing positively, with both the player and the club keen to continue their partnership ahead of the new season. 

An agreement is yet to be finalized, but talks are said to be on the right track as Celtic look to secure the services of the Nigerian international for the foreseeable future.
