Transfer Update: D’Tigers Star Chima Moneke Joins Serbian Giants Crvena Zvezda

Nigerian international and D’Tigers forward Chima Moneke has completed a move to Serbian powerhouse Crvena Zvezda on a two-year contract from Spanish club Saski Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 29-year-old heads to Serbia after an impressive spell with Baskonia, where he emerged as one of the EuroLeague's standout forwards.

Moneke enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 EuroLeague campaign, averaging 14.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

He posted an efficient 64.5% shooting from two-point range and converted 81.3% of his free throws.

He also averaged 28.2 minutes per game, contributing 0.88 steals and 0.27 blocks per fixture, though his turnover rate stood at 1.85 per game.

The Nigerian was reportedly on the radar of several clubs but opted for Crvena Zvezda after extensive negotiations.

Moneke is expected to earn €1.7 million per season as he embarks on this new chapter in Serbia.
