Transfer Update: Genk Eyes Onuachu Return

Sampson Adedeji

Belgium Jupiler league side Genk have already indicated interest to have back Nigeria's Super Eagles and Southampton forward Paul Onuachu, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The lanky attacker joined the Saints during the winter transfer window but his arrival had little effect on the team as they suffered relegation at the end of the season.

Onuachu played 11 matches for Southampton this season and he was unable to register a goal despite having a decent goal run in the Jupiler League.

Some clubs across Europe including Borrusia Monchengladbach and Trabzonspor have shown interest in getting him.

Genk joined the fray on Wednesday but remained to be seen if Southampton will allow him to leave the club this summer.

Onuachu played 134 times for Genk and scored 85 goals.
