Turkish giants Beşiktaş have agreed a deal with Leicester City for the transfer of Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, bringing an end to a drawn-out transfer saga, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ndidi is expected to arrive in Istanbul in the coming days to undergo medical tests and finalise personal terms.

He is set to sign a 3+1-year contract with the Black Eagles. The transfer fee is reportedly €9.5 million (£8.3 million), which Leicester have accepted despite Ndidi’s release clause being higher.

The 28-year-old, in the final year of his contract, opted not to extend his stay following the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League.

Since joining Leicester in 2017, Ndidi has made over 240 appearances and built a strong reputation as one of the league’s top defensive midfielders.

In the 2024–25 season, he featured in 30 games, scoring once and providing five assists.

Beşiktaş view his signing as a significant boost ahead of the new campaign as they prepare for both domestic challenges and potential European commitments.
