Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is on the verge of joining the growing list of Super Eagles stars in the English Premier League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Newcastle United, the reigning Carabao Cup champions, have reportedly entered advanced negotiations with German club Bayer Leverkusen to secure the services of the in-form forward.

Boniface was a key figure in Leverkusen's Bundesliga title triumph last season and has continued to impress this term with 11 goals in 27 league appearances.

Despite his contributions, reports suggest he has grown unsettled under manager Xabi Alonso during the current campaign.

German outlet BILD confirms that talks between Newcastle and Leverkusen are progressing well, with a deal potentially close to completion.
