Nigeria-eligible forward Tobi Adeyemo has expressed his excitement after signing his professional contract with the English Championship side Watford FC, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Adeyemo who made his debut against Blackpool in January agreed on a three-year deal with an option for a further 12 months on Friday.

“I’m over the moon to sign my first professional contract at such a special club like Watford.

“Coming through here from Under-14s all the way until now; I’ve been here since 2018 and to finally pen my first professional deal means a lot.

“This season has been absolutely terrific for me. To come on for my league debut in front of the amazing home fans and score my first professional goal at the age of 17, becoming Watford’s eighth youngest goalscorer, it’s something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

“This is just the beginning. I’m ready to push on now and I’m hungry for more," he said.

Born in Hackney to Nigerian parents, Adeyemo joined the Watford FC Academy in October 2018 and spent time on loan with Hitchin Town in November 2022.
