Transfer Update: Nigerian Forward Joins USL Side

Hartford Athletic has confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Adewale Obalola ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season, BSNSports.com.ng reports

The transfer is subject to league and federation approval. Obalola, arrives from FK Ekranas in Lithuania’s second division, where he spent the past two seasons.

In the most recent campaign, he scored 10 goals in 27 appearances, helping his team finish eighth in the league standings.

In 2023, he netted five goals, including a hat-trick against Jonava in late September.

“Addy is an exciting young talent and a versatile addition to our attacking unit,” said Hartford Head Coach and General Manager Brendan Burke.

“He has shown great finishing ability, as well as the vision to set up his teammates.

"I’m looking forward to seeing him link up with Michee, Momo, and the rest of our attacking players.”
