Transfer Update: Nigerian Youngster Joins Ukrainian Giants

Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk have officially announced the signing of Nigerian youngster Prosper Obah from LNZ Cherkasy, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The highly rated forward completed his move to the Ukrainian powerhouse following impressive performances with LNZ Cherkasy, which attracted the attention of one of Eastern Europe’s most successful clubs.

Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Arda Turan expressed confidence in the club’s new acquisition, highlighting Obah’s technical qualities and physical attributes. 

"I want to emphasise that Obah is very strong technically and also an excellent sprinter. What is particularly important is his ability to defend the ball,” Turan said.

Prosper Obah is expected to add pace, energy and attacking depth to Shakhtar Donetsk’s squad as the club continues its push for domestic and continental success.

The move also represents another positive step for Nigerian footballers making their mark on the European stage.
