Orlando Pirates have officially joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro, intensifying competition for the Mamelodi Sundowns forward ahead of the new season, BSNSports.com.ng reports 

The Buccaneers now find themselves in a bidding war, with Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu FC, and Sekhukhune United already showing strong interest in the talented attacker.

Ighodaro rose to prominence during his loan spell at AmaZulu FC last season, where his consistent performances and goal-scoring prowess made him one of the standout players in the PSL. He featured in nearly every league match for Usuthu, catching the attention of top clubs both locally and abroad.

Determined to strengthen their frontline, the Soweto giants see Ighodaro as a key target. However, they’ll need to fend off competition not only from local rivals but also from abroad, with Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca and Russian side FC Baltika also keen on securing the 24-year-old’s services.
