Transfer Update: Real Sociedad Hint At Sadiq Umar Stay

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has hinted that Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar could remain at the club for the new season, praising his commitment and performances in pre-season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In an interview with Noticias de Gipuzkoa, Aperribay revealed that the club’s stance on the former Almería forward has changed in recent weeks, following his impressive displays in training at Zubieta.

Sadiq, who had earlier been linked with a summer exit, has reportedly convinced the coaching and technical staff with his attitude and work rate.

 “There’s been a complete turnaround in Sadiq’s case,” Aperribay stated.

“The information I’ve received is that he has been training really well, just like the rest of the group at Zubieta. We’ve been speaking daily with Erik Bretos about how things are going in training, and Sadiq is doing very well. We’ll see what happens, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of him staying with us this season. I think that’s clear.”
