Transfer Update: Stade Tunis Sign Nigerian Forward
Sampson Adedeji
With just 48 hours to the kickoff of the 2025/2026 Tunisian Ligue One season, Stade Tunis have added firepower to their squad by securing the services of Nigerian striker Godswill Emmanuel, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The capital-based club narrowly missed out on the league title last season, with a lack of cutting edge in attack identified as a major weakness by the club hierarchy.
In a bid to address that, Stade Tunis announced the signing of 19-year-old Emmanuel on Thursday.
The promising forward has penned a three-year contract and is expected to go straight into the first-team setup.
Stade Tunis ended last season with a disappointing 1-0 loss to city rivals Club Africain, a game in which they squandered several chances to secure a win.
They also fell short in the Tunisian Super Cup, losing 1-0 in the final to Esperance after defeating US Monastir 2-0 in the semi-final. They are set to begin the new campaign on Sunday with a fixture against US Monastir.
Despite his late arrival, Emmanuel is expected to feature in the match, having completed his transfer just two days before kickoff.
