Transfer Update: Super Eagles Midfielder Signs Extension With German Giant

Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella has signed a new long-term contract with German Bundesliga giants Bayer 04 Leverkusen, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 26-year-old attacker has committed his future to the club with a five-year contract extension that will now keep him at the BayArena outfit until June 30, 2031.

In a statement released by the club, Bayer Leverkusen confirmed the development, highlighting Tella’s importance to the squad due to his versatility and attacking qualities.

“Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the Bundesliga football club, has extended the contract of attacking midfielder Nathan Tella. 

The versatile 26-year-old, who can play on the right wing, as a second striker, and also on the left wing, signed a contract valid until June 30, 2031,” the statement read.

Tella joined Leverkusen from English Championship side Southampton FC in 2023 and has since developed into a key member of the team. 

His previous deal with the club was scheduled to run until the summer of 2028 before the latest extension.

The new contract underlines the club’s confidence in the Nigerian international as they continue to build a competitive squad capable of sustaining success in domestic and European competitions.
