Portuguese giants FC Porto have confirmed the signing of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi on a season-long loan from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former European champions announced the arrival of the Nigerian international as part of their January transfer reinforcement, with the forward expected to boost their attacking options for the remainder of the season.

Moffi’s journey to the top level of European football has been remarkable. He left Nigeria at just 17 to join Buckswood Football Academy in England before making his professional debut in Lithuania, where he quickly made a name for himself.

The powerful striker netted 20 goals in 21 matches in the Lithuanian league, performances that earned him a move to Belgian side Kortrijk.

Although his time in Belgium was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Moffi still impressed, scoring six goals in 11 games across January, February and August 2020.

His form secured him a transfer to French club Lorient, where he made an immediate impact and established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most reliable forwards before later joining OGC Nice.

Standing at 1.88m and known for his strength, movement and finishing, Moffi arrives at familiar territory, having previously featured in Nice’s 3-0 defeat to Porto at the Estádio do Dragão in November.

He now joins a Porto side managed by his former coach Francesco Farioli, who knows the striker well.

The Nigerian forward is expected to add physical presence, goal threat and experience to Porto’s frontline as the club pushes for domestic success and a strong European campaign.
