Transfer Update: Super Falcons Defender Happy To Join Chicago Stars FC
Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria’s Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has expressed her delight after completing a move to National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Chicago Stars FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Chicago-based club confirmed Alozie’s arrival on Tuesday evening, announcing that the defender has signed a three-year contract that will keep her at the club until the end of the 2028 NWSL season.
Reacting to the move, Alozie said she is eager to begin a new chapter of her career with the Stars.
“I’m excited to be starting a new chapter with the Stars,” Alozie said.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the team, connecting with them on and off the field, and seeing you fans, both in the city and in the stands. See you very soon, Chicago!”
The California-born defender began her professional career with the Houston Dash in 2021, initially joining the club as a national team replacement player before earning a full roster spot. She played 114 minutes across four appearances in her rookie season.
Alozie enjoyed a more impactful campaign in 2022, scoring two goals in 10 regular-season appearances and playing a key role as the Dash reached the NWSL playoffs for the first time in the club’s history.
Internationally, Alozie is a regular member of Nigeria’s Super Falcons and is expected to add depth and experience to Chicago Stars FC as they prepare for upcoming NWSL seasons.
