Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is set to reshape Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking options, and one of the key names at the center of speculation is Nigerian forward Victor Boniface, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Boniface has been linked with a potential exit from the former Bundesliga champions, but Ten Hag, who took over the team just a month ago, appears determined to retain the 23-year-old striker.

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Royale Union SG exactly two years ago, Boniface has become a vital part of the squad, playing a significant role in the club's recent success.

In his debut season, he recorded an impressive 21 goals and 10 assists in 37 appearances.

Although his numbers dipped last season scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in 27 games Boniface still remains a highly regarded figure within the club.

Despite experiencing reduced playing time toward the end of last season, particularly in the Bundesliga, sources close to the player and his representatives reveal that Ten Hag considers him an essential part of his plans and has made it clear he wants Boniface to stay for the upcoming campaign.
