Transfer Update: Watford Rejects Huge Trabzonspor Offer For Ekong

Despite finding it difficult to break into the team under the new coach Rob Edwards, the English Championship side Watford FC has turned down a huge Turkish offer for Nigeria's Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

According to the report Turkish champions, Trabzonspor made a huge loan offer to be around £1.7 million with an option to buy the defender.

The Hornets turned down the approach the reason being that they aren’t getting the cash up front, whilst £1.7m is not a major fee anyway and believed that Ekong is worth more.

The chance to move to Turkey, and potentially play in the Champions League, is going to appeal to the player, so it will be interesting to see if he pushes for this move.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Ekong will not be involved in Friday's clash against Burnley.
