Transfer Update: Why We Signed Ibrahim Buhari - Elfsborg Manager

The manager of Swedish side Elfsborg Jimmy Thelin has opened up on the reason they acquired former Plateau United defender Ibrahim Buhari, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

Elfsborg on Tuesday announced the acquisition of the 21-year-old defender on a 3-year deal.

While speaking on his arrival, the manager said his aerial power and athleticism attracted them.

"Ibrahim is a big, powerful and athletic defender with a good passing foot and a good eye for the game. 

"Ibrahim's timing and athletic ability make him a big threat in offensive set-piece situations which was shown by a good goal scorer in the league game, this combined means that Ibrahim is a profile that we believe will suit us well for the future", he told the club media.

Buhari whose performance in the league earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles B team played 34 matches and scored six goals for Plateau United last season.
