Transfer Update: Wolves Target Super Eagles Striker Arokodare
Sampson Adedeji
Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are in advanced talks to sign Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian club Genk, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to Belgian outlet HLN, Wolves are prepared to table a €25m bid for the 24-year-old forward, who is expected to leave the Jupiler Pro League before the close of the summer transfer window.
Arokodare, last season’s top scorer in Belgium with 21 goals, has also attracted interest from Serie A heavyweights AC Milan and Napoli.
Wolves view him as the ideal replacement for Jørgen Strand-Larsen, who is on the verge of sealing a move to Newcastle United.
Notably, Arokodare has been excluded from Genk’s squad for Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Lech Poznań, as the club looks to avoid any injury risks ahead of a potential transfer.
