Gallant Super Eagles after picking the ticket to the 2023 African Nations Cup in Liberia will immediately leave for Nigeria same night, reports BSNSports.com.ng

One of the team official revealed this to www.bsnsports.com.ng after 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone in Liberia.

"We shall leave Liberia tonight (Sunday night) and jet out to Nigeria, the official who pleaded anonymity told BSN Sports.

Napoli and Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen scored a brace to increase his goal tally in the competition to seven. In MatchDay 5 of the 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier, the host, Sierra Leone up their games and drew level at 2-2 before a late strike from Kelechi Iheanacho handed the three times African champions the 2023 AFCON ticket with a game to spare.

Exactly a year ago, Nigeria had beating Sao Tome and Principe 10-0 in the first leg of the qualifier. Osimhen who scored four goals in the first leg will be looking forward to increase his goal tally for the country when the second leg comes up in Nigeria on 8th September, 2023. Osimhen is the highest goal scorer in the qualifier with 7 goals closely chased by Senegalese Sadio Mane who scored five. 12 countries including the host, Cote d'Ivoire have qualified for the 2023 CAF African Nations Cup in January, 2024.
