Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong led Al-Ahli Doha to an emphatic 3–1 victory over Al-Hussein Irbid, securing a place in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League Two, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The quarter-final encounter, played on April 19, 2026, at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai, saw the Qatari side produce a disciplined and assured performance to dispatch their Jordanian opponents.

Al-Ahli made an explosive start, taking the lead just two minutes into the contest through Erik Expósito. Al-Hussein responded in the 21st minute, with Yousef Qashi drawing his side level to keep the tie finely balanced.

The momentum, however, shifted decisively after the break. Julian Draxler restored Al-Ahli’s advantage in the 65th minute with a spectacular goal scored directly from a corner kick, putting his side firmly in control.

Al-Ahli sealed the victory deep into stoppage time when Michel Vlap converted a penalty in the 97th minute, ensuring a comfortable margin at the final whistle.

The win sends Al-Ahli Doha into the semi-finals, where they will face Al-Nassr, spearheaded by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, on April 22.
