By BSN Sports
United States President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino appeared jointly at the FIFA World Cup draw ceremony, where Trump was presented with the FIFA Peace Prize in recognition of what FIFA described as contributions to global dialogue and diplomacy.
Delivering the event’s opening remarks, President Trump praised Infantino’s leadership, saying, “It’s such an honor to be with Infantino. He has set new records on ticket sales.” He added that “football is an amazing thing,” highlighting the sport’s global reach and unifying power.
Infantino, in turn, offered strong support for the U.S. president, stating that Trump “definitely deserves this FIFA Peace Prize.” He added, “You can always count on my support.”
Reflecting on current global tensions, Infantino said, “We see images of war all over the world. We suffer for every child that cries. We cry for every mother who loses someone she loves.” He also referenced Trump’s involvement in Middle East diplomacy, noting, “I was lucky to see the Middle East peace agreement with you.”
Closing the ceremony, President Trump hinted at a forthcoming announcement or initiative, telling the audience: “You are going to see an event you have never seen before in your life.”
