Two African Countries Eliminated From FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup

Kenya and Zambia are the African countries that have been eliminated from the ongoing 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic after two games played.

As per fifa.com, in Group C, Kenya struggled to find their footing in a tough group. 

Their opening match against England ended in a 2-0 defeat at the CFC Stadium on October 18. 

Their fortunes did not improve in the second group match, where they faced Korea DPR on October 20 and were beaten 3-0 at the same venue. 

These back-to-back losses ensured Kenya's early elimination from the competition.

Zambia, competing in Group D, also faced a challenging path. 

Their campaign started with a narrow 1-0 loss to Brazil at the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo on October 18. 

In their second match on October 21, Zambia lost 2-0 to Poland, also in Santo Domingo, sealing their exit from the tournament.

With both Kenya and Zambia now eliminated, Nigeria remains the only African team still in contention at the ongoing World Cup. 

African football fans will now look to the Nigerian side to carry the continent’s hopes as the tournament progresses.
