Italian newspaper Repubblica has claimed that Al Hilal and Al Ain, two clubs participating in the Club World Cup, are prepared to activate Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen’s release clause this summer, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced.

The Nigerian international forward has a €75 million release clause in his contract with Napoli. This fee can only be paid by clubs outside of Serie A.

Several European teams, including Chelsea and Manchester United, have shown interest in the Nigerian forward, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

However, as reported by Repubblica (via TMW), Al Hilal and Al Ain are set to match the striker’s release clause in June, ahead of the start of the Club World Cup.

It remains to be seen whether Osimhen will choose to leave Europe in the 2025-26 season or wait for a more suitable offer from a club in Europe.

Multiple sources have indicated that Manchester United is already in discussions with Osimhen’s agent.

Juventus is also interested in the Napoli-owned striker but will need to pay more than €75 million since his release clause does not apply to Serie A clubs.
