Two Sponsors Threaten To Dump CAF
Sampson Adedeji
With an update coming from Kenya, two key sponsors have threatened to dump the Confederation of African Football (CAF) if the current president, Patrice Motsepe, refuses to run for a second time in office, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The tenure of the South African business mogul is to expire in 2025, and he is set to declare publicly if he will be running for a second time in office. The Executive meeting of the body was held in Kenya on Monday, and he made it clear that two of their sponsors have made it clear that they will revoke their relationship if he fails to run. "Two of our sponsors told me, if you don’t continue we might consider to stop sponsoring CAF", he said. Several big heads in the game have signified interest in taking up the position if he decided to back down.
