Newly acquired Everton FC attacker Tyrique George has confirmed his Nigerian heritage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

George, who was born in London, completed a deadline-day loan move from Chelsea to Everton, marking a new chapter in his young career.

Speaking to the club’s media after his arrival at Goodison Park, the winger revealed his African roots, disclosing that his mother is Ghanaian while his father is Nigerian.

“My mum is Ghanaian and my dad is Nigerian,” George said.

The highly-rated youngster was part of the Chelsea squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, further underlining his pedigree and experience at elite level despite his age.

His move to Everton is expected to provide him with valuable first-team opportunities as he continues his development in the Premier League.
