U-20 AFCON: "Go For The Trophy" - Sunday Dare Charges Gallant Flying Eagles

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has charged the gallant Flying Eagles not to lose focus on winning the trophy for Nigeria for the eighth time, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Flying Eagles on Thursday night pipped the Cranes of Uganda 1-0 in the quarter final of the 2023 CAF U20 African Nations Cup to pick the semifinal and world Cup tickets.

Reacting to the brilliant performance of the Nigeria U20 team, Dare, the Minister of Youth stated that he has never doubted the ability of Nigerian youths adding that they should remain focused on winning the title for the eighth times.

"I have never doubted the ability of Nigerian youth. I know they're capable of excelling in their different fields against anyone in the world. 

"I want to use this opportunity to congratulate the Nigeria Football Federation, team's officials and the players for qualifying for the semifinal of the competition and as well picked the World Cup ticket. Now, the next target is winning the semi-finals and final game.

"If you can do it at the WAFU B championship by winning the trophy, then you can also do same by ruling Africa ahead of the world Cup." he said.

Nigeria will await the winners between Gambia and South Africa on Friday.
