U17 AFCON: "We Will Not Underrate Burkina Faso - Abdullahi

Ahead of the quarter-final against Burkina Faso, Nigeria's Golden Eaglets forward Abubakar Abdullahi has said they will not underrate their opponent, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Abdullahi netted the winning goal in the Nigeria 3-2 win over the Amajimbos of South Africa and ensured that Nigeria finished in the second position in the group.

Burkina Faso on their part defeated the defending champions Cameroon 2-1 in the final group game and secure a quarter-berth against Nigeria.

While speaking on the upcoming game, the young forward confirmed they will not underrate the Burkinababes.

" I feel much relieved after I scored against South Africa.

"I scored 3 goals in WAFU last year. We will not underrate Burkina Faso but play our game with a strong mentality to win as our coaches have taught us," he said.

The five times world champions will trade tackles with Burkina Faso in the quarter-final of the 2023 CAF U17 AFCON on Thursday at 8:00pm.

All Semifinalists will represent Africa at the FIFA U17 World Cup.
