U17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets Group Opponent Zambia Lodge Protest On Elimination

Following their elimination from the ongoing U17 African Cup of Nations in Algeria, the acting General Secretary of the Football Association of Zambia( FAZ) Iva Lengwe has protested the decision, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Junior Chipolopolo of Zambia were eliminated from the competition on Saturday evening despite having a superior goal difference to South Africa after their victory over Morocco.

CAF used the head-to-head rule to eliminate Zambia a decision that never go down well with the country's football body.

The scribe of the federation said that the Football House is inquiring about how CAF decided to rule Zambia out of the competition.

Lengwe has said that once CAF explains how they arrived at the decision, FAZ will decide whether to appeal the decision or not.

Morocco topped the group, Nigeria took the second position with South Africa and Zambia finishing in the 3rd and 4th positions.
