U17 AFCON: Morocco, Burkina Faso, Six Others Pick World Cup Tickets As Egypt, Gambia, Two Others Engage In Playoff

Eight countries have picked the FIFA U17 world cup tickets at the 2025 CAF U17 African Nations Cup following their impressive performance, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Following expanded number of participating countries at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar, Africa will present 10 teams at the world cup finals.
According to the rule to determine the teams at the knockout stages, the top two teams in each pool advance to the knockout rounds, and also picked automatic tickets to the 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar, while two sides that finish third in the four pools will play-off for the two remaining spots.The nations are meeting for the first time at the TotalEnergies CAF U17 AFCON.
In Group A, Morocco and Zambia with 7 points apiece in Group B, Burkina Faso and South Africa with nine and four points respectively. In Group C, Tunisia and Senegal are first and second with seven points apiece while Ivory Coast and Mali having garnered seven and six points have qualified for the world cup.
Third placed teams includes, Uganda, Angola, Egypt and Gambia will involve in playoff to determine the two slots.
Meanwhile, the quarterfinal matches commence on Thursday when Burkina Faso host Zambia at 5:00pm as Morocco entertain South Africa at 8:00pm. On Friday, Ivory Coast will confront Senegal for the Semifinal ticket at 5pm while Tunisia trade tackles with Mali.
In the playoff games, On Saturday, Uganda will lock horns with Gambia at 5pm on before Egypt host Angola at 8;00pm
