U17 AFCON:Eaglets, Others To Have VAR For Quarter Final Fixtures

Just as the quarter-finals of the ongoing U17 African Cup of Nations are about to kick off, the African soccer ruling body has confirmed that Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be in use, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Since the commencement of the tournament, all the group matches were played without the usage of VAR.
But CAF on Wednesday afternoon announced that the gadgets will be put to use for the first time in competition starting from the quarter-finals.
The three stadiums (Nelson Mandela, May 19, 1956 stadium ,and the Chahid Hamlaoui stadium) which are hosting the competition are equipped with VAR facilities.
The Junior Teranga Lions of Senegal will face Amajimbos of South Africa in the first quarter-final before the host Algeria will tackle rival Morocco later on Wednesday.
Mali will take on Congo in the 3rd quarter-final before Nigeria confronts Burkina Faso in the final game of the last 8 on Thursday.
