U17 AFCON:MOTM Award Was Mixed Feelings For Me - Lawali

Golden Eaglets defender Yahaya Lawali has said it was mixed feelings for him after he was named Man of the Match despite their defeat to Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Lawali who was adjudged as the Man of the Match in the opening group game against Zambia, clinched the award again on Wednesday despite the team's defeat.

Speaking after the game, Lawali said he has mixed feelings and was dejected about the outcome of the game.

 â€œI have mixed feelings about being named Man of the Match. It is a good thing for me but as a team, we are sad that we lost the match against Morocco.

It was a critical game for us and it is heartbreaking to lose.

“We are heartbroken that we couldn’t take our chances, but we are sure to do better in our next match.

We will work to ensure we are better and more efficient with scoring,” said Lawali.

Nigeria will face South Africa in their final group match on Saturday.
