Sampson Adedeji
Age fraud and crises continue to rock UNIFFAC the body in charge of football in the central as Chad faces disqualification from the regional qualifier, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.
It was the host Cameroon that first encounter serious crises after 21 of the 30 players presented failed the compulsory Magnetic Resonance Imaging test conducted on the team.
Though they were able to rally around and raised another set of players for the tournament.
A few days ago Federation of Congo Football Association(FECOFA) announced its withdrawal from the qualifier after a large chunk of its players failed the test.
Chad's team, like all the other participating nations, passed the MRI tests to the selected players.
Of the 25 tests carried out, 17 were deemed admissible, 7 players were rejected and one case was put on hold, and Ousmane Diallo was finally deemed eligible at first.
The 7 who failed were invited to return to Chad so that the rest of the group could play in the tournament.
But the Saos were therefore disillusioned when they learned of their exclusion on Wednesday evening, due to the presence of Ousmane Diallo.
The vice president of the Chadian Federation, Nair Abakar frowned at the situation.
"CAF announces a disqualification at 10:23 p.m. Something difficult to digest. By putting yourself in our place, it will be difficult for you to accept this decision", he fumed.
If the CAF decision stands it means only 3 countries will take part in the qualifier and 2 will qualify.
