Following the crisis rocking WAFU A about the U17 African Cup of Nations qualifier, the organizer is set to cancel the championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Three teams, including Guinea, Guinea Bissau, and Sierra Leone, were disqualified on Sunday after their players failed the compulsory Magnetic Resonate Imaging tests.

The organizer had initially agreed that the remaining 5 teams would continue the competition and they would play in the same group.

However, according to the latest from the organizer, more players have failed the test, and they've concluded plans to cancel the competition this year.

This tournament was scheduled to take place in Dakar from October 20 to November 3.
