U17 WAFU B : Despite Change In Squad, We’re Ready – Black Starlets Coach
By Niyi Busari
Head coach of the Ghana U17 national team, Kwesi Fabin says his boys are ready for the WAFU U17 Zone B Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The team which barely three weeks ago had several players failing the MRI tests forced the technical crew to search for immediate perfect replacement.
This, of course, affected their preparations but coach Fabin believes they are still in good shape and ready for the tournament.
“You know this team has gone through a lot of changes due to MRI tests but with the current team we are ready to go."
The tournament is scheduled to take place in Cape Coast from the June 11 to June 24, 2022 which will see the winner qualifying for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria next year.
The Black Starlets have been drawn in Group A where they will face Nigeria and Togo whereas Group B comprises of Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Niger.
Ghana will take on Nigeria in the tournament’s opener on Saturday June 11, 2022 and the game will be live on Max TV.
