U17 WAFU B: Golden Eaglets To Depart For Ghana Wednesday

The Golden Eaglets will depart Nigeria for Ghana on Wednesday ahead 2022 West African Football Union (WAFU B) U17 tournament, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sanusi Mohammed, said the five-time World champions, Golden Eaglets will travel to Ghana by air.
"They are scheduled to travel on Wednesday inshaa Allah. And they are going by Air by God's grace." Sanusi told BSN Sports.
Unlike the Flying Eagles who travelled to Niger Republic 10 days before the commencement of the tournament to acclamitize, the decision that paid off as Nigeria become champions of 2022 WAFU B U20 for the first time since 2018 when the competition begun. Golden Eaglets will have just two days to train and acclamitize as the tournament starts on Saturday.
The hosts Ghana were pitted against sworn rivals Nigeria and Togo in Group A, which has only three teams.
In Group B, defending champions, Cote d'Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Niger will compete for semi-final tickets.
The tournament will be held in the Central Regional capital from Saturday, June 11 to Friday, June 24, 2022, and will serve as a qualifier for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The finalists will represent West African countries at the U17 African Nations Cup to be hosted by Algeria in 2023.
Twelve teams will gather in Algeria to slug it out for four tickets to represent Africa at the FIFA U17 World Cup.
