U17 WAFU B: Induka Ugbade Clears Air On Alleged Bribery, Giant Brillar Relationship

Golden Eaglets head coach, Induka Ugbade, has debunked the rumour that the owner of Giant Brillar, Chief Ebowusim, forced over 10 players on the Coach and are currently at the Camp of the Nigeria U17 in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Ugbade who was the First player to lift the FIFA U17 World Cup in 1985 insisted that the players who are currently in Camp are selected on merit adding that there is no interference or monetary inducement from anywhere.

The former U17 Captain in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports admitted working with the Giant Brillar proprietor, six months before he was named the Golden Eaglets head coach but their relatiionship does not influence selection of players.

He said,  "I have been to Enugu even before U17 national assignment , then, it was not Giant Brillar that took me to Enugu the second time. I was in Port Novo in Benin, the issues of Coronavirus did not allow me and I came back home. When I got back home after about one month and 2 weeks the man called me back that he has one team that is playing in Lagos and they are playing in NLO and that he doesn't need the team again because it was costing him money, and also most of U17 of Giant Brillas he wants to be taking them to Denmark and Sweden for Dallas cup every year if possible and I should come and help him to scout and train the players.

"I have been with Giant Brillar for 13 months, each time I wanted to go there, the man will tell me that he will pay his own money, anywhere I travel to teach football science, you will see me in the morning teaching those boys from the board .

 "I was there (with Giant Brillar) for 2 and half months before they started U17 at all, I don't know anything about U17, it was not more than 6 weeks it was the boss and Daddy Fresh that called me that if I will like to coach U17 and I said it's okay and they asked for my CV and I told someone to send my CV because I was in training when they called me in the afternoon. I did this with an open heart but what I'm seeing outside is that Amoo that qualified the team before should be the coach, I did not write an application for the U17 job I was called to do it then God did it and I was announced at the end. 

"So all those that are saying that i flooded the Camp with Giant Brillar boys, I would have like to ask them why are they talking about Eaglets and mentioning that Ugbade is using his boys, I have no boys in the U17, anywhere I go to young players always follow me, all those that gathered here I can conveniently tell you that apart from Enugu boys that came almost about 40 per cent of them knew me.

"I do walk around to teach football, in future, I'm thinking of becoming a professor of football if possible and thinking of going back to Brazil, I have paid for school fees about 12 years ago and I have not been able to go.
