Ivory Coast has officially replaced Nigeria as the host nation for the 2025 U17 WAFU B Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria was initially awarded hosting rights for the regional tournament, scheduled to take place in September.

However, according to the latest update from the WAFU B headquarters in Abidjan, the competition has now been shifted to Ivory Coast.

The change comes as a result of ongoing renovation works at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, one of the proposed venues.

Both the Ikenne facility and the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta had been earmarked to stage matches.

The 2025 U17 WAFU B Championship will now be held in Ivory Coast from September 11 to 25, 2025.
