U17 WAFU B: Why We Lost To Nigeria - Ghana's U17 Coach
Sampson Adedeji
Black Starlets of Ghana coach, Fabin Kwesi, has revealed the reason his team lost heavily to Nigeria's Golden Eaglets, BSNsports.com.ng gathered.
Despite playing at home, Ghana suffered a 2-4 defeat to the classy Nigeria side who dominated the entire duration of the match.
Kwesi during the post-match conference blamed the defeat on a Magnetic Resonance Image ( MRI) scan which ruled out 20 players out of the initial 28 players in camp
He further said his boy was jittery against Golden Eaglets and their goalkeeper failed to help the team.
"I don't want to make excuses but about three weeks to the competition, the FA President asked one of the CAF officials to conduct an MRI test and out of 28 players, 20 failed."
"We collapsed. We couldn't play our usual game. The boys were a little bit jittery. They were playing long balls and our goalkeeper also didn't help us," he said.
Ghana must beat Togo in their next match to have a chance of reaching the semi-final of the tournament.
