Following the Golden Eaglets 4-2 win over Ghana in their 2022 WAFU U-17 Zone B Tournament opener, BSNSports.com.ng brings you five takeaways from the match at Cape Coast Stadium, Cape Coast.

The dominating performance:

The Golden Eaglets made a statement of class with a superb difference on the turf this evening. It was a tale of a team being built, also attached with distinctive on a good football ideology as opposed to the comprehensive Ghanian Black Starlets football. 

In the first half, the Golden Eaglets already sealed the game with three goals from the young lads.

Nigeria played with the intent of humiliating the Black Stars on their turf. They dominated the game with their passings and organization on the pitch. 

Tiring Eaglets in the second half:

The team suffered some burnouts towards the end of the game and gave away silly fouls.

Their passes were also sloppy in the second half and were lucky not to have conceded just twice.

Poor Defending:

Left back Emmanuel Michael scored a fantastic free kick - unleashing a powerful shot from about 25 yards.

However the Ghanaians exploited his position more often where they created most of their chances from. Needs to be improved.

Hungry for more after scoring their fourth goal:

The Golden Eaglets showed an extreme passion of being hungry for success after scoring their fourth goal in the game, they ran to their end to restart the match immediately. 

This kind of mentality is unreal and has to be imbibed by the Super Eagles team. Being hungry for more goals tells a lot about the work of the manager behind the scene. 

Top notch goalkeeping:

The goalkeeper Richard Odoh had a very encouraging game as he pulled some outstanding saves in the game.

His distribution was also good but it was a bit curious why he did not attempt to dive for the penalty he conceded.
