U17 WWC Qualifier: Flamingos Await Winner Of Niger–Guinea Tie

Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, will face the winner of the tie between Niger and Guinea in the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The draws for the qualifiers were released by world football’s governing body, FIFA, with Nigeria handed a first-round bye in recognition of their impressive performance at the most recent edition of the tournament.

As a result, the Flamingos will only return to competitive action in the second round, where they are scheduled to take on either Niger or Guinea over two legs.

The first leg of the second-round encounter is slated for May 22–24, 2026, with the return leg to be played a week later.

The winner over the two legs will advance in the qualification race for the global showpiece. Nigeria’s Flamingos are aiming to secure another appearance at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, having established themselves as one of Africa’s most consistent performers at the youth level.
