U17 Women’s World Cup: Cameroon Suspends Coach Over Immorality Allegations

Just days before the kickoff of the U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, the Cameroon women’s team has been thrown into turmoil following the suspension of head coach Joseph Ndoko for alleged “offending morality,” BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the young Indomitable Lionesses expressed their anger and disappointment over the decision, calling for the reinstatement of their coach.
The players, seen sitting on the ground, voiced their frustration, describing the situation as a “period of weakness” and decrying the “frustrations” they have endured since the technical staff’s suspension.
According to the players, Ndoko had worked closely with the team for several months and played a key role in their World Cup preparations.
His sudden removal, they said, has deeply disrupted their focus and morale ahead of the global tournament.
Earlier in the week, FECAFOOT under the leadership of Samuel Eto’o Fils announced the coach’s suspension, citing “serious accusations of indecent exposure.”
The decision reportedly came just as Ndoko was preparing to travel to Morocco with his squad.
However, no evidence has been made public, and the coach insists he was never officially informed or interviewed regarding the allegations.
In a letter addressed to the FECAFOOT president, Ndoko described the move as “hasty and defamatory,” demanding a transparent investigation to clear his name and restore his reputation.
His players have since rallied behind him in solidarity. This latest episode adds to the growing controversy surrounding Eto’o’s administration, which has faced repeated criticism for alleged authoritarian management and abrupt disciplinary actions against officials and staff.
With Ndoumou Mika now appointed as interim coach, all eyes will be on whether he can stabilize the shaken squad and lead the Lionesses into the World Cup with renewed confidence.
