U17 World Cup: Mali Claims Bronze, Mauls Argentina 3-0

African representative Mali defeated their counterpart from South America Argentina to finish 3rd at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Indonesia, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After losing to France 2-1 in the semi-final, the Junior Eagles of Mali bounced back strongly to hammer Argentina 3-0 on Friday.

Skipper Ibrahim Diarra netted the opening goal before Mamadou Doumbia doubled their lead in the 45th minute.

Hamidou Makalou sealed the game with the 3rd goal in the 48th minute to hand Mali a deserving bronze medal.

The final of the tournament between France and Germany is slated for Saturday.
