Ahead of the Nigeria's U17 Women's team Flamigoes, clash against their counterpart from Ethiopia, head coach of the team Bankole Olowookere has revealed the secret behind the team's progress, BSNsports.com.ng gathered
The Nigeria reached the final round of the qualifier after they defeated the North Africa side Egypt 6-2 over the two legs.
While speaking to BSN Sports correspondent Olowookere revealed that hard work remained the secret to the team's success.
" First of all, I have to thank every Nigerian they've found a way to support us in every match.
I also thanked the federation for allowing us to have gone this far.
From the onset we have set our priority that we want to get the ticket, so the game against Ethiopia is the last hurdle to getting the ticket.
I remained grateful to the teeming Nigerians without them who is me?
We just want to complete the job so the year can be a joyful one for us.
There is no secret for me or anyone that want to achieve success than hard work, it is what has brought me this far.
I want to use this opportunity to appeal to Nigerians that these are young girls and developmental programs, so we cannot just touch them anyhow.
We are going to make use of those that merit the position and not use sentiments," he said.
The winner between Nigeria and Ethiopia will get to represent the continent in the FIFA U17 Women's World cup in India later in the year.
