U17WW/Cup: Ecuador Warns Flamingos, Thrash Host Dominican Republic

Ecuador U17 Women's team sent a warning signal to the Nigeria's Flamingos with a comfortable 2-0 win over the host Dominican Republic, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The host started the game on a front foot and tried to seize the control of the game.

Ecuador were able to quiet things early on when a Mary Guerra shot was blocked by goalkeeper Jaylene Rondon but was poked home by Valverde, Valverde then doubled her tally later in the half by stabbing home an inch-perfect cross from Noemi Camacho.

Ecuador and Nigeria will come face to face in the second group match.
