The coach of the Nigeria's Flamingos Bankole Olowookere has heaped praises on his players for their efforts in the opening group match, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian lads thrashed New Zealand 4-1 on Wednesday to commence their campaign in the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup on a sound note.

The coach was excited about the outcome of the game and hoped for a better outing in the next game.

"It's a good first game for us. We are taking them as they come, so a good game for us, scoring four goals and only conceding one, so not bad for our first game", he said.

Flamingos will face Ecuador in their second game.
